Muscling in on the fitness market

Overview
The Gym Hub is a low cost gym and comprises part of the Impulse Leisure Group. Budget gyms are the biggest area of growth in the UK’s fitness industry, gaining popularity due to their flexible contracts and low cost. The Gym Hub approached Shout with two briefs: to create advertising campaigns to promote their Wickford gym in Essex, and to help launch their new site in Worthing, West Sussex.

The challenge
The challenge was to help The Gym Hub move away from the stereotypical and overused 'sculpted' gym body to something more relevant and personal. Through our strategy session we identified the need to create a series of gym 'personas' and the concept for the campaign was born.
Our experienced team got to work on a shoot to deliver a 12-month advertising campaign, overseeing every element of the process from concept through to shoot, right through to post-production and delivery.

Our solution
Shout created a striking 12-month campaign centred around the hashtag, #whatsyourreason. We injected a sense of fun into the The Gym Hub's brand identity through the use of different gym-going personas. From the bride-to-be to the older guy who wants to stay sharp, the head-turning campaign was launched across billboards, buses, posters and train stations throughout the South East.
