Playful brand for Southend's spectacular public art event
Overview
Hares About Town is a spectacular public art event in partnership with Wild in Art that will weave its way across Southend-on-Sea, Essex during the summer of 2021.With each hare individually painted by a different artist, a whole host of sculptures will be placed all around the town for families to discover and enjoy. The concept involves each hare being sponsored by a business to help raise money for a much-loved local charity, Havens Hospice.
The challenge
Shout was approached by local charity Havens Hospice to offer our creative ideas for a spectacular event to take place in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, during the summer of 2021. We started from absolute scratch; originally an event without a name, our team had to create a brand identity and artistic direction that would capture the hearts of the public while appealing to corporate sponsors.
Our solution
Following a brand workshop, our designers created a playful logo and name to appeal to the target demographic of local families. We crafted beautiful illustrations to bring the concept to life, including a visual of the hare trail weaving its way across Southend’s iconic landmarks. We developed a whole host of creative assets that will be used for both online and offline promotion, including flyers, website design, and a wide suite of digital assets.
